presence of hydrocarbons

Let me first set the record straight...I am no geologist.

But I have been playing O&G specs for a while and first fundamental thing with any drilling one looks for is presence of hydrocarbons. Latter doesn't show up immediately confirm drill is a duster.

Fact it has shown this means there is increased probability of a find (as against when start of drilling without this info).

Pity we can't see some quality discussion around this evidence, rather than downramping posts without any factual support.
