has anyone been following the carbon trading scheme in NZ.
I follow it because my forestry assets have carbon credits attach to them and I purchased a few extras as a longer term investment.
I know BRL have liabilities involving carbon emmisions from mining coal activities but they don't detail this very well in their reporting.
I think this is calculated from the green house gases released when veins of coal are disturbed/mined.

The NZ govt has just announced a move up in the fixed price of carbon from $25 to $35 whilst they move to a auction platform which will have a floor price of $20 and a cap of $50.
European credits are trading at about $40 NZD.
It is my understanding the government believes the $25, old fix price, was being absorb by industry and was not high enough to encourage a change in habits to lower green house gas emissions.

This is a pretty unfair playing field for BRL as many countries including some of those that export coal do not acknowledge carbon liabilities.
Does anyone have more of a guide on BRL's carbon liabilities
