    crickey I found this interesting........
BRL appear to be on the hook for not only mining gas emissions but for emissions from the coal burnt that they sell domestically.

All CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions produced from mining• All CO2 generated by the combustion of the coal sold in New ZealandEven though Bathurst doesn’t actually burn the coal it sells, it is responsible for reporting the emissionsfrom the combustion of that coal and remitting the required units for that combustion under the ETS.Bathurst must either purchase carbon units from elsewhere to remit, or pay the government on acalendar year basis

Found what I was looking for in the 2019 annual report.......it was after page 1 so many on here would not have read it.
So it appears last year BRL were on the hook for about 120k tonne in carbon laibilities........ @ $25 a tonne = $3m.
    @ new price of $35 = $4.2m
In the scheme of things not really a meaningful difference but still a distinct disadvantage when compared to other countries exporting coal and paying nothing.
The way things are going it might be equal to 50% off the bottom line
    Interesting cost of doing business
