It all takes large amounts of time.
Papers have to be accepted, published, peer reviewed before it even gets in the door.
Multiply that by thousands of others doing research on every possible problem in existence plus all the new research being undertaken in the current circumstances.
Things will never be the same as they were.
Someone has pressed the reset button and it is time for a lot of acceptance and new thinking.
