Kyrgyzstan has won the Country of the Year Award in mining industry, press service of the Economy Ministry reported following the visit of Temir Sariyev, head of the department, to Hong Kong.
According to its information, the country won this prestigious award at Mines and Money Hong Kong international conference on March 21, 2013. Apart from Kyrgyzstan, awards were given to Papua New Guinea and Australia.
As the Ministry of Economy noted, the award was given for reforms in the mining industry, improvement of country’s investment climate, and ease of doing business.
The Mines and Money Hong Kong conference is a ground for participants to share mining practical experience and discussion of possible investments in their countries. At least 3,500 mining companies along with insurance, investment and financial analysis companies took part in the conference this year.
