The grade question is a good point however, if the ore is amenable then these types of magnetite ores can be benificiated to ranges of 65-70%. It therefore is costly to build a plant for this refinement stage but the final product is worth more and is sold as fines or pellets. So a large magnetite deposit is fine. in fact its only pretty much Australia where haematite is the standard. Magnetite is the more common ore type - we are just spoiled with the Pilbara haematite that BHP and RIO have a stanglehold on
