Just saw the RAAS interview
Olson talks a good game and useful to understand that RAAS is a paid service (to give marketing and investor visibility to the companies who use their services) so the questions and answers were all prepared well in advance so everything discussed was carefully scripted.
At least they tackled the revenue, cashflow and ACV/ARR issues upfront, but frankly still hard to understand the what he has said before or even later in that interview:
- Olson says that customers are coming to them through AWS/Emersent/Carbonix saying they have the manual/automated drones or data capture technology but don't have a platform to process/interpret all that data so you have wonder why a utility worth 10s billions would be fussed about a $1-2m budget to leverage all that data which in itself would have cost quite a lot to capture
- same for cashflow.....if pointerra is so critical to these large utilities, then the managers that signed these contracts would understand the nature and size of pointerra and ensure they got paid on time to ensure they get the resource & commitment (high chance that 3DP does not exist in its current form if they have another 12 mths similar to the last 12-18)
- ARR is not there because they are still trying to assess how much those utilities are going to spend.....no I believe those utilities currently have not committed to any spend, and the hope is that they will sign up by 1Q
The only upside seems to be Amazon, but again, seems strange that the team that engaged them had all their work paused while they did an internal restructure......if this is as ground breaking as they say it is, it should have progressed irrespective of internal restructures.
Anyway, 2Q24 looks to be a another quarter of pain for shareholders, and maybe if Olson is correct, we may see some price movement
