At 23:11 in the Coffee Microcaps interview, Ian mentions current customer data storage in AWS is "more than a couple of petabytes now".
To put this into some context:
- 'peta' is 1 followed by 15 zeros
- A petabyte is equivalent to 1 Billion Megabytes, 1 Million Gigabytes, or 1 Thousand Terabytes
- 2 petabytes is equivalent to 400 Million x 5mb iPhone photos
- Its also equivalent of 134,228 x City of Geelong point clouds (containing 475 million points)
Clearly the platform is being used with thousands of data sets for this level of storage.
It's about time some of these indicators are shared with investors, another useful measure would be include Daily Active Users (DAU).
Time to convert those bytes into cash Ian!
