    If that is a concern, and it could be, then it is best to lock in the interest rate. In addition, if inflation leads to higher wages (which happened in the past), then (hopefully) there would be full offset for the higher interest rates. However, if you lose your job and owe money in an inflationary economy you are really stuffed.

    The baby boomers who bought their house in the 1970s and 1980s were well ahead as a result of the housing debt being inflated away. I should know, I was one of them.
