I thought I would revive this thread - if it ever had life

Been doing a bit of research on publication of medical papers and these are my thoughts:

A simple paper with no peer review published in a down and dirty online Journal = 6 - 7 weeks
Better quality journal + 2 - 4 weeks minimum
Peer review + 2 weeks for something simple + 2 or more if not so simple or suitable reviewer (the journals have panels) not immediately available.
Rewrite taking into consideration feedback + 2 - 3 weeks
Controversy + 2?
Editing for publication + 2 Weeks
Acceptance for publication to actual Publication + 2 weeks + 2 or more for better regarded journals (more submissions).

So if submitted on time end of Feb + 16 - 26 weeks

That makes publication due from 24 May to 9th August is within normal scope.

Assuming it will be peer reviewed, in a better class of journal, not too much controversy, the reviewer didn't come down with covid etc

I reckon 7 + 3 + 4 + 2 + 2 +2 = 20 weeks which makes it due middle of July. The company said May but it is not in their control.

So really anytime in the next 4 weeks is my best estimation.
