Perhaps the BTA thread is a bit of a refuge for diversity in opinion on the Hotcopper forum which is good to see; I understand the points that Liberal party backers make but it is a little tiresome to have the same old rants again and again. It's good to get a bit of Lefty influence here. I must say for myself I am perhaps extreme lefty in some ways but have some quite right wing beliefs too; in fact I find the whole terminology "right/left" descends into farce and I prefer to talk about issues as seperate things. I don't subscribe to a whole ideology as a package. Waleed Aly for example is ostensibly a conservative but in many ways is a breath of fresh air and it's this sort of thinking we should encourage.
