And for my 2c, charts never lie, correct. They ALWAYS without fail tell the past very accurately.
But everyone knows they're horribly faulty at predicting the future. If they were reliable, then chartists would use the knowledge of what the charts were telling chartists to do, to screw chartists. By definition, the more reliably you can predict the future through charts that everyone else can also see, the more the future will change to something you won't predict.
Oh wait. That is actually what happens now.
