Tiger, have a good read of the article posted by henk, and re-posted by ohrweh.. it shows that some of those ‘genius’ trials of pumping co2 underground into old wells are leaking elsewhere.

For the proportion of money spent on CCS projects the return is extremely minimal... we agree that Hazer is a great example of carbon Capture and utilisation. But I would take a PV array over coal fired and carbon capture and storage any day, one is proven to work, with little input but the sun, the other (even if it did stay underground) would need more pipe to be layed to get the co2 to its final resting place and billions spent on keeping rigs onsite for a finite storage.. then they would need to find another ‘structure’ to hold more co2 and move all the infrastructure there.. useless imho.
