I think there's a lot of wishfull thinking around about the price of oil. My bet is that it will creep up again.
What I find really interesting is that there seems to be no concensus about the real state of world oil supply. I can understand demand being a mystery, but I thought supply might be easier to measure. But then you get companies like Shell that have scandalously overstated their reserves leading to their recent downgrading by 20%. There is also a lotof suspicion surrounding the stated reserves of Kuwait.
