In the Courier Mail on Saturday a few analysts were saying even if SUN was to give their banking arm away for free, the insurance company should still be worth around $6.60 a share.

Any thoughts on that? I've been buying and selling SUN since mid-2008 (and back in 2003-2006 when I worked for SUN) and have making a few bucks here and there, but never holding for too long as I'm a little worried about their future. I bought at $4.98 yesterday and was going to sell when they hit $5.60 to lock in an easy profit, but I changed my mind (probably a bad move!) and have decided to stick around in search of $6+.

Basically I'm of the thought that SUN will sell the banking and wealth management businesses by the end of FY09, and the price will jump as investors finally get what they wanted, which is a strong and focused insurance company, rather than something which doesn't quite know if it's a bank with an insurance arm, or an insurance company with a banking arm.

PS. This is my first post, hooray for me! ;-)
