They are not drilling out the whole thing because that would be expensive and unnecessary. It’s cheaper to drill ahead when you are actually mining. For this round, they only need to confirm (i.e. upgrade) what they have drilled so far because that would be enough to satisfy the various interested parties. My guess is that if there’s any increase in size, it would come more from depth than from distance.
