Yeah HIO has been notorious for having some long top wicks recently (daily chart). Tends to have a flurry mid morning then gets whacked down. On quieter days, I've noticed that there's not much action all day until the last 15mins (like you suggested "Amateurs set the open, Professionals set the close")
