Absolute nonsense.
The price we get for the IO will be the average over the life of the mine, not the spot price today, tommorow, or last month.
Even if we had started mining 6 months earlier, that would have been less than one third of the mine life...we would still be subject to current IO price fluctuations.
And who's not to say that the six months at the back end won't turn out to be as good as the first six months would have been? There's simply no way of knowing.
