Some fair points – I guess what I was trying to say is that OD is small fry. If one of these geothermal plays (and the most likely would be GDY) could actually hook into the main power grid of NSW the output they could sell would probably only be limited by the transmission capacity.
If I understand correctly, the power GDY could theoretically produce is greater than 1000MW.
My argument is why bother with OD – the main game is electricity generation in the main power grid. That is why I think KUTh has a bit of a head start (obviously it does not have the thermal reserves that GDY has). The $1B figure I quoted was from a presentation (verbally) that GDY gave at the Sydney mining club
