being an old bugger, on his last legs, and doing his best to give his kids the most possible - when he croaks - watso has time on his hands, and scours the shops for the best deal. the thrill of saving 5c (which will flow to the ungrateful offspring, is unbelievable).
in a major shopping centre, close by to where watso lives - the grocer shop was selling tomatoes at 99c per kg - but woolies , in the same centre was selling them for $2.99 per kg - but iga up the road were selling tomatoes at $3.99 per kg ... watso paid 99c for a kg of tomatoes - which means the offspring have an extra $2 to fight over.
watso only started this post for no other reason, than he was urinating all night - and was scratching his head, wondering why - aghhh finally realized that watermelon was at 49c/kg (full watermelon) at the grocer shop - watso bought 2 watermelons and got stuck into one....mmmm watermelon selling at double and triple the price at other shops
last week - the iga store, up the road was selling legs of lamb for $5.99 per kg - which was about half the price of the same product in woolies - but the tomatoes and watermelons were way more expensive.
for what it is worth, but watso cycles 8km (16km return). just to pay $2 for 2 litres of milk - just to tell coles and woolies to get lost with their milk deal.
lol - the cheap milk is to the west side of where watso lives - but the cheap bread is 7km (14km return) to the east side. coles have $1 per loaf for white bread - but watso has found a store, which sells wholemeal bread for $1 per loaf. the bread is not the issue - the bits in between the bread, give the sandwich the taste
one can laugh as much as they like, but bike riding is good for watso's back - and general health. saving a few cents is rewarded by saving heaps of dollars on the health care system.
the half price deals in coles and woolies are worth checking out - buy them, but look elsewhere for other stuff.
