all i can figure is that there are serious margin calls going on and in teh new financial year people can take profits and avoid tax for a year.

you are right. for many investors they see no earnings, pie in the sky, and good profit in the meantime. momentum plays fear, "what does the market know, why are these peopel selling, there must be a reason they are getting out, i will too" sell sell sell."

LNC looks to me like a classic bubble which is bursting. It's happen it lots of stocks this year, mak etc, they all have the same look about them. It's pretty stupid to think that this stock will go up forever, but thats the sign of a top when everyone thinks it will go up forever.
