from what I've seen when doing Food Shopping very recently in last Week or so:-
same Variety of Potatoes,
Coles $3.00 Kg then Today $4.00 Kg = up 33%
Woolies $3.00 Kg then Today $4.50 Kg =up 50%
Excuse seems to be, the recent flooding Rain in Queensland.
To me, that excuse is 'absolute rubbish', because these present Potatoes would have been purchased from the Farmers BEFORE the any of the recent flooding rain in Queensland, and also many of the Potatoes sold here in Southern N.SW. and Victoria are from South Australia.
P.S. A couple of Days ago, I heard the A.B.S. 'blowing their Trumpet' ,that the Inflation Rate was about 1.2% or so, and that the price of IMPORTED Cars had declined and helped keep the inflation Rate at that Figure.
Again,'absolute rubbish', from the A.B.S. because most people do not go and buy IMPORTED Cars on Weekly or Annual Basis.
regards,
moly
