The trouble with trading lynas was that the announcement was made just after the market closed. This means there was enough time for the asx to price the news in by the time the market opened the next day. The only real trading opportunity was in the German market.
If lynas had released the news during the asx trading day, many traders could have got in before the overall market had priced it in. But by releasing news at 5pm, it gives the market 17 hours to price it in.
