G'day JamesQuinn01 - Yes, the above post started when I realised I had mispelled our largest pharmacy chain in Thailand, referring to it as Booths, when in fact it is Boot's Pharmacies. I had a momentary lapse, lol. But then I started thinking out loud. Sometimes I do that.
Now, Betadine throat gargle has been a huge seller and very successful over it's forty odd years in service. But I thought to myself, I have never used it. I have never purchased a bottle. And for one good reason. I have never had the need to purchase it. I am 60 years of age, and I would suggest I may have had three or four sore throats in my life, probably at under 10 years of age before it hit the market, and I think mums cure was to gargle salt water. But as an adult, I have been lucky enough to not be afflicted by sore throats, although many others are and will continue to be.
I have absolutely no idea on how many units are sold worldwide in the countries where it is permitted to be sold, but I gleened this from my good friend Google in regards to throat sprays. Yes, different to Betadine throat gargle, but probably, possibly trying to acheive the same result. Bear with me.
"The global throat sprays market is projected to achieve a valuation of USD 484.0 million in 2023. According to recent forecasts, the market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.1% over the forecast period, reaching approximately USD 598.3 million by 2033.The anticipated growth in the throat sprays market reflects a steady increase in consumer demand for effective relief solutions for throat discomfort and infections. Throat sprays are popular for their convenience and efficacy in providing symptomatic relief, which contributes to the market’s ongoing expansion."
So I look at the above figures, and it would clearly suggest that the throat spray / throat gargle market is very user specific. People who have, or have a tendency to get sore throats or discomfort. And because it is user specific, the product has less reach than the following. Stick with me,
The Global Nasal Spray Market
The Global Nasal Spray Market reached US$ 24.16 billion in 2024 and is expected to reach US$ 40.59 billion by 2033, growing at a CAGR of 6.1% during the forecast period 2025-2033.
A nasal spray is a form of medication that is administered as a fine mist into the nostrils, allowing for direct absorption via the nasal mucosa. This type of delivery is especially useful for a wide range of treatments, including allergy relief, decongestion, and even immunization. The liquid drug is atomized with a specialized technology, allowing it to be easily breathed into the nasal passages and exhibit its therapeutic effects swiftly and efficiently.
The global nasal spray market is expanding rapidly, owing to a number of factors such as increased product releases and approvals. This trend is mostly driven by the rising prevalence of respiratory diseases and allergies, which has increased demand for effective treatment alternatives. Nasal sprays are becoming more popular due to their convenience of use, quick start of action, and ability to administer medication directly to the nasal mucosa.
So that's big numbers! - US$ 40.59 billion by 2033
Note - The Asia Pacific region is emerging as the fastest-growing market for nasal spray, owing to demographic shifts, increasing healthcare expenditures, technological advancements, rising number of chronic respiratory disorders. One of the primary reasons for this trend is the rising incidence of allergies and respiratory diseases in densely populated areas. Urbanization, environmental pollution, and lifestyle changes have all contributed to a rise in allergic conditions in the Asia Pacific region.
In the same article. ( I will post the link, it is very interesting, read through it and you will see us! It's in Japanese, so google translate it)
In April 2024, Firebrick Pharma launched their nasal spray product, Nasodine Nasal Spray, in the United States, making it the first in the world to be commercially available. Nasodine contains PVP-iodine, a broad-spectrum antiseptic best recognized for its extensive use in throat gargles under the brand name Betadine. Nasodine, a nasal spray, contains the same substance.

So if we line up all our ducks in a row, find a pathway to regulation, and get this out into every market we can, we will definitely become a very profitable company. The product is a world first, fully patented, and it is simply to good to fall through the cracks. So between 0% and .5% in this world that is constantly growing, evolving, and facing greater problems due to the fact we are being squeezed together like sardines in this world. Well, we will never sit at 0% and I would like to think that in years to come, we can get to a minimum of .5% uptake in all of the countries I listed, and all of those I havent listed.
If you asked me 6 months ago, "What is the Global nasal spray market?" I would have said "Who cares!!" But now I do.
Subject to our sales teams tenacity, market approvals, and supply chain, we will become a very profitable and healthy company. We have only just begun, yes, BUT, we have Nasodine, it is patented, and it is ours.
The difference between Betadine Throat Gargle and Nasodine is that everyone needs Nasodine. The world needs Nasodine.
