If the European Central Bank drops rates, the Euro dollar will fall relative to USD, and DXY (all things being equal) will rise. As Gold is correlated to DXY, this will cause it to sell. Gold (and commodities in general) do best when USD is weak compared to major trading partners. As shareholders in a (soon to be) gold producer, we don't want high inflation or low rates in Europe.
