Let's face it, until the announcement is out, nobody knows. Speculation is they're selling HFA shares so it looks like they may be freeing up enough assets to pay the debt due March. Confirmation that this debt has been settled, or that the funds are now in place to settle it is what the market desperately wants to hear. That should bring some stability to the price and give it a floor.
As far as I can see, the fact that MFS could not agree with CIY on an amended
merger proposal means that they are not as desperate as the media would have us believe and that MFS are in talks over selling a majority share in Stella, means that that option is preferential to them.
