OMG Those worldwide sales numbers are truly scary! Up until July 2019, 2019 worldwide sales were substantially higher than 2018. Then they started going to hell. August 2019 was worse than August 2018. September 2019 was worse than September 2018. Take a look at Lynas stock price chart. It peaked in (wait for it) July 2019, and has followed the decline in worldwide EV sales. One of the reasons I bought Lynas is that it is a highly leveraged industry, and will do spectacularly on the upside. But leverage hurts on the downside. This feels like a recession, where the generals are leaving the field first. I have now changed my sentiment to hold, because I still expect electric cars to replace ICE, and foresee a ginormous run up in the price of neodymium in the 2020's and 2030's. I'm committed to the long run, but these sales numbers are really bad.
