CSBP WA's biggest fertilizer supplier has just increased its prises for the fourth time since September(effective Monday). They are not alone! This is becoming a major concern for the farming community, a hedging strategy is hard as a farming business needs to take physical delivery of product. Farmers generally have storage for one growing season hence sheds are full for the 08 season. One possible hedge for the 09 season is to buy shares into fert companies IPL MAK ect which many farmers are doing. I am a longterm holder of MAK and a farmer looking for the next opportunity. I realize GCR is no MAK, but am astonished with their resource so close to IPL that the share price is tanking. Can someone tell me why? Is it purely management? This known resourse has alot of value! I suppose with no chance of mining the phosphate any time soon the market shows no interest. This ag boom will be long, the world needs to eat and there ain't much phosphate about. With absolutely no substitute!
