haha, yeah, i do....
you can capitalise a loss this year and record in your tax return as a carried forward loss... it carries forward and can be offset against your next capital gains. these are offset before you discount for 50% if you held shares for longer than 12 months.
the only logical reason would be if you wanted to save the capital loss to be offset against a capital gain in a particular year where you have a higher income (and hence higher marginal tax rate). as you don't get the choice when to apply, it just has to be against the first capital gains (or more first financial year of gains) that arise.... but, i don't give you this much credit.... i think you're just a lil bitter.. considering you think the stock is going to fail, most reasonable person would sell before the price went down further and carry forward their loss..
but, don't listen to me, just ask your accountant.
