The opposite has happened in regards to the AUD, the AUD is typically correlated more highly to iron ore and coal. Increase in the pace of interest rate hikes in the US and few in Aus should aid a decreasing AUD.

This is just a stupid comment, not much more to say on it. You clearly don't know much about the stock market then, hundreds of ASX stocks have foreign currency and interest rate exposure.
