it all depends on one's strategy Bentleigh ..
traders try to pick the ups and lows ... buying and selling - trying to read the sentiment and movements .... it is a ' professional ' skill to get it right the majority of time ... based on experience and analysis ...
it amuses sometimes ... oh yeah I remember a listing on the Nas of .. say UNS ... a one off case .. a bit like saying Im going to buy a new car next week ... Oh yeah ... I had an old holden once 3 years ago ...
medium - long termers are happy to ride out the ups and downs .. and over time trust that if the Company gets things right ... the share price will appreciate ... it is a helluva lot more relaxing riding out the waves rather than constatntly worrying about intra day share movements ...
.. perhaps some of the volatility may settle and we move into a sideways pattern ... awaiting the release of news and the next leg upwards
