Not in this market, today was evidence. If a cash bid is on the table, the market knows exactly what shareholders are going to get.
If its a break up and they sell off parts of the business, you dont how the cash from those sales will be returned to shareholders, if at all. Therefore there is no certainty and certainty is what is needed in this market.
Dont get me wrong, both outcomes are a good result for shareholders, one is just better than the other and that is why the sp fell today.
