IRON ORE DERIVATIVES WRAP: OTC iron ore prices climb again

Iron ore swaps prices showed a fourth consecutive day of climbs on Thursday August 8, with volumes remaining firm despite a public holiday in Singapore keeping many participants out of the market.
“It has been a big-volume week,” a broker in London said. “Prices have kept pushing up strongly.”
Metal Bulletin’s 62% iron ore index was calculated at $136 per tonne on Thursday, up by $2.58 from levels seen on Wednesday.
August traded outright at $134.50-134.75 per tonne cfr China for 62% Fe material and as part of carry trades with September at $1.50-1.75 per tonne.
