Prickly pears are in season now, I bloody love the fruit.
Handling them to remove the skin off the fruit is not for the untrained, those tiny prickles are a nightmare. In Spain and Portugal you can buy the already skinned from street stallsNot sure Dragon Fruit are all that easy to grow, least not were I am.
I have two, a white flesh and red/purple flesh. Ive had then for maybe 5 years or so, red/purple flesh has flowered twice and given me 2 fruit. The white one produced 8 flowers last year but no fruit, it has a flower on it now that should open any day now.
My sister was not a fan of dragon fruit saying the look nice but didn't have much taste, I was surprise because the first Dragon fruit (Red one) I grew tasted amazing. So I got the second red dragon fruit I gave her a taste, well she was blown away.
I don't know but maybe the white one don't have much taste
