    Christ can only be the image of God since He is God in the flesh..

    Zbusuc, you don't seem to have given the Scriptures much thought. If you to use that logic you would have to say both Adam and Eve were God in the flesh.
    (Genesis 1:27) And God went on to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.

    Jesus was the ''image'' of God even while he was in the flesh because he continued to reflect God's ''invisible qualities''.

    (Romans 1:20) For his invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable.
