It's everybody's fault for allowing people to pretend to be holy and become priests when they could be worthwhile members of society and for filling the world with poker machines so that the vulnerable remain victims and the greedy grow fat syphoning away the wealth of those who can't afford to lose money.

Everybody has a vulnerability. All you need to do is exploit it.

I agree that the priest has chosen a life of make-believe and must pretend to be something he isn't. The Church in the beginning was the government.
