western people do not understand celibacy or the evolution of Christianity
Christianity become a world religion due to the emperor of rome, Constantine
at that time, there was Roman Xianity & Eastern Xianity
the Eastern Xianity, with its Desert Fathers & mysticism, was obviously influenced by Buddhism, which was very strong in Persia & had an influential base in Egypt
all religions try to compete for 'holiness' so the Roman church obviously pushed for celibacy
celibacy can never be a 'doctrine' and it cannot not even be a 'disciple'. this shows how Archbishop Pietro Parolin still does not understand it
celibacy is always a 'virtue' & always a means to a higher end, which is the 'heavenly bliss' of the heavenly meditation mental experience
some Christian mystics have known this but, as an overt & well documented field of knowledge, it is held by the Eastern religions, such as Buddhism & Hinduism
to be a natural celibate, requires: (i) moral virtue, in being able to discern to ideal & non-harmful conditions for sex, which is always in marriage; (ii) once seen, really having no interest in the mundane nature of a life of marriage & reproduction
my aunty died yesterday & my mother said to me: "I often wonder about the point of life; it seems like it is all for nothing".
i frankly replied to my mother: "it is. try to realise & be at peace with it"
