yes, way too much speculation for what is a straight forward issue...
every CEO has different strengths - when you are in the process of creating and building a company, especially a bio tech with its years of trials and funding requirements, you get different CEOs in for the job, depending at what stage of maturity the company is at...
MR is/was a great spruiker, able to generate enthusiasm and ultimately get the money in the door to set the company up for years to come, especially going into critical Phase III trials, and especially just prior to establishing a strong US presence, both physically and electronically (nasdaq)
now that phase of building the company is complete - he's tired, been well rewarded, and is moving to another post (which is another reward)
in comes the new guy, the new CEO who has different strengths, particularly suited for rigorously pushing the company and its people througn demanding Phase III trials about the world - quite the effort in co-ordination and internal people skills are required, together with relationship management with the FDA for years to come - and these are some of the strengths of this particular CEO
and that's it -- he'll get the company through Phase III, make the announcement of its success, enjoy the ride a little while after, then perhaps he too will move aside to a non executive Board position, to allow another CEO to move into the role to ensure the long-term success of the company, as it commercially exploits CVac deployment about the globe -- that latter CEO would have a strong products knowledge, for instance, able to build and maintain pipelines and service existing customers of CVac - hospitals around the globe, and heavens knows how many institutes that will want to partner with the company...
so we are just seeing generational change, as the company goes through its changes towards becoming a fully recognised leader in the cancer sector...
and that, I submit, is all there really is to it...
change for securing the right professional skills and strengths relevant to the unique phases the company will go through, on its march to fully fledged global leader in its space...
good luck
