I'm one that advises against set stop losses on biotechs.
Mental stop loss is ok, but personally I would never use a set one.

Some biotechs get dumped on prior to news.
Triggering stop losses and generating unecessary fear for people to sell out. There have been cases on this if you want to look into it further.
ACTC is one that I hold on the NASDAQ...it got traded down 2 mths prior to news of FDA approval for trials with embryonic stem cells (embryos not harmed for those concerned). Most stop losses would have got hit in the month or two prior. The stock 4 bagged within a month.

Everyone has their own theories and ways of trading or investing they are comfortable with and that makes them profit.
Well done if you got out prior to the downtrend if that's your trading strategy.
