primary completion date ph. 3 trial

I notice that the FDA clinical trials site, contains the following:


"Estimated Enrollment: 390
Study Start Date: December 2011
Estimated Study Completion Date: December 2015
Estimated Primary Completion Date: January 2014 (Final data collection date for primary outcome measure)"

So; while the study may go until the end of 2015, the estimated primary completion date should have just happened.

Any interpretations of what this may mean?

Two other things to note: (a) the site hasn't been up-dated for about 12 months; so hopefully that means dates, etc are still valid; and (b) it only mentions trials being undertaken at Australian sites; and makes no mention of UK, eastern Europe, etc sites.
