    The small retailer has been having trouble for years. Not because of a 10% variable but because they are being screwed by big businees muscle. The big stores like Harvey Norman, Coles etc can extract tight prices from suppliers, that are not shared equally with small retailers.

    Right, so you agree that a 10% tax advantage to offshore suppliers makes it even harder for small business, those who employ most of the workers in Australia? Personally I never buy anything from Harvey Norman or Myer, they are expensive, I'm really not sure why many do.

    The point really is why should small business be disadvantaged against both big business AND offshore competitors? Wouldn't it make sense that, if offshore suppliers don't have to charge GST for items under $1000, either should Australian businesses?
