We now have a combination of some of the most over priced real estate and some of the highest interest rates in the world.

This has meant that banks are siphoning a lot of money out of the economy, which used to be discretionary spending supporting retailers. As a lot of money is borrowed from overseas to support these house prices this money is directed overseas. Bye bye money...

Kudos to the Labor Government for making a bad situation worse...
