Tgn, I don't know what you are expecting from these politicians. The chance that one will publicly announce, "we are going to shove fracking down your throats" is basically nil. No politician anywhere has the gonads to do that. But it's clear from that article, and the many other statements we've read, that the central government is pro shale gas development. They are pushing hard within the constraints of a political system that they have been taught to respect. You and I wish they would buck that system and push harder but it isn't going to happen - at least not publicly. So, we bide our time and wait for the appeal decision - which should mark the second approval for fracking since the moratorium. This is going to start slow and build momentum with time, it's the only way they'll allow it to happen in the UK. It's useless to hope for anything quicker.
