Yes I really do think that, if they can do this with epitaxial silicon then it would be the cheapest available, photon switching is an area that Translucent have been working on for years, but they need to just get one thing either salable before they move on any other tech, but perhaps they should look at say partnering with Stanford Uni on this perhaps?
