Alex999 I also agreed, the only cases I've seen an ASX stock being bought out it was either entirely by say a hedge fund (so they buy on the market and takeover at a set price). If they get to a certain percentage - I think about 80% it can be delisted but there is no guarantee that any profits end up as dividends. (the might keep it to expand/explore etc).
If the acquire over about 90% I think, they can compulsory acquire the outstanding shares (at I assume the previous bid price).
