I have seen a couple news and TV current affairs articles that Australians are walking away from private health insurance....After huge price increases - blessed and bestowed by an independent body..(in fairness lower this year than most in recent memory)..LOL...I guess that was to be expected....Now the question is - as their memberships usestheir common sense and leave the industry....How much longer will the government continue with this scam? They could privatise all the hospitals - several billions no doubt...(probably 10's of billions), raise the Medicare levy by 2-3% (and how about a 1% Medicare levy on each and every import) and give Australians a much better deal....than the current private policies of scammers extolling the virtues of your own TV in a private room (and decent chance you will get the same in public - minus a few dollars for the TV) and a doctor of your choice - that you have absolutely no clue of......rather than a qualified doctor you don't know either.....LOL...God the government and the private insurance companies count on your stupidity. This is one very easy problem to fix. Nationalise the hospitals and doctors...and if they don't like it, the airport is available.....and will be for their replacements. And do what is best for Australians rather than follow the Americans down the impoverishment ruination - that any major illness will cause for the majority.....
