I recollect a number of surgeons wanting to perform operationson a weekend without taking into consideration the extra costs that would be incurred which, of necessity, would be passed onto the patient. Needless to say these operations were cancelled, with the exception of one who was a fly in fly out patient (plastic surgery) from Greece who, after the operation, promptly did a bunker back to Greece leaving the hospital, but not the surgeon who got his money up front, out of pocket.
