I would pay for the costs of putting in the "last mile" few metres from kerbside pit to my home, or to reinstate the previously connected coax - I recognise that this could cost $1k , but I am not allowed by govt and NBN-favouring law to do this - they require me to pay an ongoing and changing (ie increasing) fee .
And govt (this govt) prevents Telstra (my provider) from doing either option (connect for fee, or reinstate previous).
The NBN is a govt-protected monopoly, and we are getting the performance and cost of a govt-protected monopoly.
