Australia will be a ‘renewable energy export powerhouse’
Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen says the government wants Australia to be a “renewable energy export powerhouse” by exporting green hydrogen.
“To do that, you need to invest in our ports, in our gas facilities, to export that green hydrogen when the technology allows,” Mr Bowen said during Question Time on Tuesday.
“We need to be constantly investing to increase our capacity not only to generate green hydrogen, but to export it.”
Province are in a fantastic position, Australia’s potential zero carbon hydrogen exports could reach $2.2 billion by 2030 and $5.7 billion by 2040.
