We're talking about Blue Hydrogen which is sourced from cheap NG - not end buyers deciding they want H2 not NG
Japan is sourcing their Hydrogen from the Middle East - guess what colour that is?
When you buy a shipment of Hydrogen, how will you know how it is generated?
The discussion here is unless Green Hydrogen is significantly subsidised by Government, it will absolutely fail to find a buyer, costing more than twice as much to produce
Whilst tech might improve over the years to bring that cost per KG down, the energy equation is always stacked against Green, because Blue starts with energy-rich hydrocarbons and can reach neutrality through CC
